South
African Hoodia Gordonii is the most sought after botanical
of the decade. This cactus called hoodia (succulent hoodia
gordonii), is cultivated by the tribe of the "San"
to some 600 miles away of Johannesburg. Hoodia takes 2 years
to grow and is not being grown in sustainable quantities
by South African farmers.
It has become widely known as the greatest appetite suppressant
of all time. Hoodia works where others have failed. Looking
at it you might mistake it for a cactus but it is technically
called a succulent as flowers blossom from it. Hoodia Gordonii
grows naturally in the desert regions of South Africa. Hoodia
Gordonii was relatively unknown until major drug companies
discovered it possessed unique properties. It is gaining
the reputation as the greatest appetite suppressant of all
time. Many people are reporting excellent success when consuming
this
product.
The
CBS 60 Minutes segment followed reporter Lesley Stahl as
she traveled to the Kalahari Deserts of South Africa to
investigate the wild stories circulating about a Succulent
"Cactus" eaten by native Bushmen for hundreds
of years. It had been reported that the eating of Hoodia
Gordonii could stave off hunger and this discovery was attracting
the interest and deep pockets of major pharmaceutical companies
and being touted
The Greatest Appetite Suppressant
of All Time.
Hoodia
Gordonii researcher Dr. Richard Dixey explains how Hoodia
Gordonii actually works:
"There
is a part of your brain, the hypothalamus. Within that
mid-brain there are nerve cells that sense glucose sugar.
When you eat, blood sugar goes up because of the food,
these cells start firing and now you are full."
"What
the Hoodia seems to contain is a molecule that is about
10,000 times as active as glucose. It goes to the mid-brain
and actually makes those nerve cells fire as if you were
full. But you have not eaten. Nor do you want to.
Hoodia
Gordonii is an extremely effective appetite suppressant.
This
cactus has an incredible virtue: A molecule "miracle"
which is highly active and acts directly on the part of
the brain controlling satiety, like glucose does it. This
molecule which acts directly with an aim of creating or
of inhibiting the feeling of "hunger". Very
many tests of laboratory show the capacity of Hoodia Gordonii
to reduce caloric intake from 30 to 40% and deprived of
side effects.
This
molecule resulting from Hoodia "thus misleads"
the brain and the body letting one believe that it has
just eaten. It works by mimicking the effect that glucose
has on nerve cells in the brain in effect fooling the
body into thinking it is full, even when it is not, thus
curbing the appetite. Furthermore, The people eating Hoodia
noted an immediate improvement of their mood.
